Player to watch vs. Avalanche: Jakub Vrana
USA TODAY Sports

My player to watch for the St. Louis Blues in the last of a four-game road trip on Wednesday against the Colorado Avalanche is forward Jakub Vrana.

OK, he's back in the lineup, and after being a heathy scratch the past two games and not being happy about it, veteran skaters that get the healthy scratch treatment usually come back into the lineup angry.

It might be a good idea to see Vrana play angry; he has a goal and two assists in five games and is a plus-2 on the season, but he also has the same numbers in five career games against the Avalanche.

The Blues will use Vrana in the bumper slot on the power play tonight and there could be something there should he get good looks, and with an angry mindset, his skating may be an important asset in the mile high air.
