Illinois Football Media Day Representatives Announced

We are less than 10 days away from Big Ten Media day. Illinois Football announced that the Law Firm of Keith Randolph and Johnny Newton will join Isaiah Williams as the three student athletes representing the Orange and Blue. There is no surprise here as the three seniors are the best players on this current team. All three are notable members of the team who have consistently represented Illinois in fun and different ways. Williams is the soft-spoken, yet confident leader who has improved each year. Newton is also the confident, leader and star of the team’s defense. While Randolph is the fun, outgoing personality that makes everyone smile.

The Law Firm

Newton and Randolph are two of the best defensive line prospects in the Big Ten. If both decided to stay in the NFL draft, both linemen would likely have been picked in this recent 2023 draft. However, the Law firm both decided to run it back for one more year. As I have stated many times before, great teams are made up of players who could have made the jump to the NFL but chose one more year.

Newton is projected as a first round pick in various mock drafts and is undoubtedly one of the best linemen to return in the entire country. Keith Randolph also had a wonderful season, however most believe that there is another gear that the Belleville native can get to. With Gabe Jacas and Seth Coleman surrounding the two, Illinois Football has the best defensive line in the conference.

Isaiah’s offense

Isaiah Williams had a breakout season in his second year as a slot receiver. Williams had more responsibility, and really showed the nation how shifty and electric he is in the open field. Williams has another gear he can get to as well. He had 82 catches for 715 yards this past year. However, with Chase Brown moving on, he will have even more responsibility. I particularly think that Williams could be successful in redzone touches, as the St Louis native showed that he is much stronger than he looks.

Bret Bielema has three outstanding young men representing this program. Year 3 is a big year for Bielema. The success of this year lies on the shoulder of these three young men.
